About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Document and database maintenance, including managing and overseeing electronic data document collections from internal and external clients
- Reviewing and preparing documents, reports and correspondence
- Assisting with discovery requests and productions
- Drafting, proofing, editing, and filing court filings using eFile systems
- Knowledge of Subpoena preparation and service of process
- Cite-checking and Bluebook briefs, memorandum, white papers, etc.
- Creating tables of authority and contents for court filings
- Tracking and communicating case related dates and information
- Ensuring that all events/deadlines are properly calendared with the Firm’s Litigation Docketing Department
- Assisting with witness preparation, direct examination, cross-examination binders/folders for depositions and trial
- Assembling and tracking deposition, hearing and trial exhibits
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
- Minimum 1–4 years of experience in a litigation environment, preferably with labor and employment law or, equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior experience in a law firm, legal, or other client service environment, is highly desired
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Portable Document Format (PDF) software
- Familiarity with iManage is a plus
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously while also functioning effectively in a team environment
- Ability to pivot and adapt to change
- Understanding of litigation support systems including, WestLaw, WestLaw Case Notebook, Lexis/Nexis, and Relativity, strongly desired
- Flexibility to work overtime, as needed to meet deadlines
