About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Document and database maintenance, including managing and overseeing electronic data document collections from internal and external clients
  • Reviewing and preparing documents, reports and correspondence
  • Assisting with discovery requests and productions
  • Drafting, proofing, editing, and filing court filings using eFile systems
  • Knowledge of Subpoena preparation and service of process
  • Cite-checking and Bluebook briefs, memorandum, white papers, etc.
  • Creating tables of authority and contents for court filings
  • Tracking and communicating case related dates and information
  • Ensuring that all events/deadlines are properly calendared with the Firm’s Litigation Docketing Department
  • Assisting with witness preparation, direct examination, cross-examination binders/folders for depositions and trial
  • Assembling and tracking deposition, hearing and trial exhibits
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • Minimum 1–4 years of experience in a litigation environment, preferably with labor and employment law or, equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior experience in a law firm, legal, or other client service environment, is highly desired
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Portable Document Format (PDF) software
  • Familiarity with iManage is a plus
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously while also functioning effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to pivot and adapt to change
  • Understanding of litigation support systems including, WestLaw, WestLaw Case Notebook, Lexis/Nexis, and Relativity, strongly desired
  • Flexibility to work overtime, as needed to meet deadlines
