About the role

  • Responsible for a portfolio of clients in excess of £250k - £500k+
  • Delivering multiple assignments to agreed deadlines, reporting directly to the Partners
  • Focus on non-profit organisations including Charities, Schools, Oxford colleges, Religious Organisations and NHS charities
  • Attend client premises, seminars and occasional evening events
  • Develop junior staff and support Firm's values
  • Day to day contact with MKS team, clients, HMRC and other professional advisors
  • All aspects of audit and accounts assignment management: job planning, budgeting, time management, delegating and supervising team, monitoring progress, detailed review of file, debriefing team
  • Tax Compliance if required and liaising with Tax Specialists
  • Finalisation of file for Partner review, calculation of corporation tax, submission to HMRC and Companies House
  • Use IT and packages including Pro Audit, CCH, excel, word and power point
  • Promote interests of the firm, motivate and encourage team, provide feedback
  • Staff management: overseeing and mentoring trainees, assisting with motivation, supervision, training, development, debriefing
  • Practice development: attend client gatherings/seminars, identify account development opportunities, assist with client pitches
  • Administration: improve systems, assist with billing and debt collection

Requirements

  • Relevant Accounting Qualification such as ACA or ACCA or international equivalent.
  • Experience of running own portfolio with a similar value and volume number of clients
  • Non Profit audit experience
  • High level of familiarity with UK auditing and accounting standards
  • Technically competent
  • High level of personal motivation and drive
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and organisational skills
  • Adaptable and flexible approach
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to motivate and encourage others
  • Ability to effectively identify and approach prospects and contribute to the development of the practice
