About the role
- Increase resiliency and reliability of current PaaS solution by improving maintainability of infrastructure as code
- Build dashboards, monitoring and alerting mechanisms with Datadog
- Perform load testing and performance tuning of production services
- Lifecycle and maintain Kubernetes clusters
- Implement new technologies on top of Kubernetes to scale with the business
- Develop and integrate automation-focused solutions to improve reliability and recovery
- Design and track metrics for site uptime and performance and maintain high visibility
- Own deployment pipelines and continuously improve monitoring and alerting capabilities
- Collaborate with other engineering functions to provide timely feedback from environments
- Support engineering teams to deliver software faster and more safely
Requirements
- Strong systems administration skills; comfortable in Linux terminal
- Know the difference between containers and virtual machines
- Platform engineering / Site Reliability Engineering experience at leading startups or fast-growing tech companies
- Experience with infrastructure as code and maintainability of IaC
- Experience building dashboards, monitoring & alerting (Datadog)
- Experience with load testing and performance tuning production services
- Experience lifecycling and maintaining Kubernetes clusters
- Experience working in a regulated industry
- Ability to guide developers on monitoring and logging complex systems at scale
- Experience working on complex projects and collaborating with Security, Data, and Engineering teams
- Understanding of reliability structures, theories, principles, and best practices
- Experience with JavaScript codebases and frameworks (TypeScript, Node.js, React)
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, Postgres, Redis, Bull, ArgoCD, GitHub, and Jest
