About the role

  • Develop and execute division‑level growth strategies , ensuring a clear path for market expansion and long‑term competitiveness.
  • Lead the annual strategic planning cycle , producing executive‑level materials, long‑range plan content, and strategic communications that support alignment across the Space Division.
  • Shape the division’s strategic narrative and ensure consistent messaging across leadership teams.
  • Lead market analysis, competitive intelligence, and portfolio planning , delivering structured insights that inform strategy and investment decisions.
  • Monitor industry trends, customer needs, budget environments, and technology developments to identify emerging opportunities and competitive risks.
  • Collaborate with engineering to support technology and capability roadmap development , ensuring alignment with future market needs.
  • Partner with Business Units, Program Management, Sales, Engineering, and Finance to align strategic priorities with business plans, financial objectives, and customer commitments.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional decision‑making and drive alignment across complex technical and business environments.
  • Guide investment prioritization, including B&P planning , capability development, and early opportunity shaping.
  • Support long‑term opportunity development, positioning Moog for major programs, new markets, and transformational initiatives.
  • Lead scenario planning, strategic trade studies, and risk‑opportunity assessments to enable informed decision‑making.
  • Engage with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders to understand their long‑term needs and growth plans.
  • Represent the Space Division at conferences, forums, and industry events to strengthen Moog’s presence and strategic positioning.
  • Define, track, and communicate key strategic metrics, including market share trends, growth target performance, pipeline health, and portfolio balance.
  • Lead strategic reviews and portfolio governance activities to ensure sustained focus on priority initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline (MBA preferred)
  • 15+ years of experience in strategy, business development, market analysis, or related leadership roles
  • 5+ years in a strategic leadership role with responsibility for people leadership and business strategy
  • Strong background in the Space, Defense, or Aerospace sectors with understanding of customer communities, market trends, and competitive dynamics
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross‑functional alignment and influence strategic decisions
  • Experience with portfolio planning , market modeling, forecasting, and investment prioritization
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to guide executive‑level discussions and presentations
  • Strong analytical capability and comfort working in both structured and ambiguous strategic environments.
