About the role

  • Contributing to information security projects as part of our security programme. Previously, we’ve delivered work in areas such as third party security, governance and vulnerability management.
  • Operating critical security processes, such as our regular user access review, third party security risk assessments and compliance exercises.
  • Working with our external partners to support the Bank’s compliance with PCI:DSS (the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard).
  • Making sure we’re forward looking by staying ahead of new security threats, innovations in technology and emerging risks.
  • Working closely with internal audit and risk teams to ensure security controls are properly implemented and regularly assessed for effectiveness.
  • Working closely with developers, product managers, and other teams to deliver all of the above.

Requirements

  • You're passionate about security: you're genuinely excited about the challenges and opportunities within cyber security at Monzo and eager to learn more.
  • You have a technical curiosity: you have a knack for understanding how things work, are capable of lateral thinking and enjoy crafting solutions to complex problems.
  • You understand security basics: you have a foundational understanding of security concepts and best practices and can confidently propose solutions to help Monzo progress in line with them.
  • You are comfortable with varied work: You've managed multiple projects at once.
  • You understand technical information: you're comfortable reading and interpreting technical documentation and procedures.
  • You're proactive and eager to learn: you take initiative, are proactive in seeking information, and are committed to continuous learning.
  • You're a good communicator: you can clearly communicate your ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You're a team player: you enjoy collaborating with others and contributing to a positive team environment.
  • You have experience supporting compliance with PCI:DSS: You have some experience working with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.
