About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, architect, and deliver complex features and system-level solutions with limited oversight
- Own the technical health, reliability, and evolution of one or more systems or major components
- Lead technical design discussions, produce design documents, and help define project scope and technical direction
- Mentor Engineer I and II team members through code reviews, pairing, and direct coaching, including onshore and offshore engineers
- Collaborate with product, QA, and business stakeholders to shape requirements and influence technical decisions
- Drive continuous improvement in code quality, testing practices, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering standards
- Identify technical debt and systemic risks and lead remediation efforts
- Serve as an escalation point for complex production issues and lead root-cause analysis
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools and establish effective team workflows
- Participate in a shared on-call rotation supporting production reliability and patient safety
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of four (4) years of professional engineering experience with demonstrated progression in responsibility
- Advanced proficiency in at least one modern technology stack or platform relevant to the assigned domain
- Understanding of system design, architecture patterns, and scalability considerations
- Ability to mentor and elevate other engineers’ technical skills
- Problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound trade-off decisions
- Written and verbal communication skills to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and workflows
- Experience working in agile environments and leading delivery across cross-functional teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS services, including VMs, VNets, AKS, App Services, Storage, and Key Vault
- Microsoft 365 E5 administration experience, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Defender suite
- Advanced knowledge of Entra ID, including SSO/SAML, Conditional Access, RBAC, and Privileged Identity Management
- Proficiency with Azure Networking, including Azure Firewall, VNet peering, NSGs, private endpoints, service endpoints, Azure Front Door, Application Gateway, load balancers, Azure DNS, and VPN connectivity
- Cisco Meraki administration experience covering routing, switching, and wireless
- Scripting and automation proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Terraform, ARM templates, or Azure Bicep
- DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and build, test, and deployment workflows using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
- Monitoring, alerting, and observability experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Microsoft Defender
- Experience supporting compliance audits with infrastructure evidence and documentation
- Experience with backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures for Azure workloads, including periodic DR testing and validation
- Containerization and orchestration experience with Docker and Kubernetes/AKS, including deployment, scaling, and cluster management
