About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the operational benefit and leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, short-term and long-term disability, parental, adoption, military, unpaid leave, and applicable state and local family leave laws
- Independently administer and resolve complex leave cases, including eligibility determinations, certifications, extensions, returns-to-work, and worker’s compensation considerations
- Serve as a subject-matter resource for employees, managers, and HR partners on leave administration, interpreting policies and requirements appropriately
- Oversee day-to-day operational interactions with third-party leave administrators, addressing service issues and data discrepancies
- Partner cross-functionally with Payroll, Benefits, HRIS, EHS, and Operations to ensure accurate integration and resolution of leave-related impacts
- Maintain and review documentation and records to ensure audit readiness and compliance integrity
- Analyze leave trends and recurring issues to identify operational risks or improvement opportunities
- Recommend process improvements or procedural refinements to the Senior Manager
- Support development and maintenance of leave-related communications, tools, and job aids
- Monitor legislative changes and assess operational implications, escalating recommendations as appropriate
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field is required
- 7+ years of experience in benefits, leave administration, human resources, or a combination of these fields
- Strong working knowledge of federal and multi-state leave laws
- Strong compliance judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to resolve nuanced and complex leave scenarios independently
- Clear, confident communication with employees and business partners
- Analytical skills to identify trends and operational risks
- Intermediate excel skills
- Proficiency with HRIS, leave management platforms, and reporting tools
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to influence cross‑functional decision‑making
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity.

- Ensure benefit premiums are collected for employees on leave
