About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary operational contact for customers and partners, providing proactive shipment updates and issue resolution.
- Maintain shipment visibility and communicate delays, exceptions, and delivery milestones in a timely manner.
- Identify transportation solutions that balance customer requirements, service expectations, and cost efficiency.
- Support customer satisfaction through responsive service and proactive management of shipment risks.
- Coordinate international air and ocean import shipments from booking through final delivery.
- Manage shipment documentation, customs clearance coordination, dispatching, and delivery scheduling.
- Maintain accurate shipment records, milestones, and operational data within CargoWise and related systems.
- Ensure compliance with customer SOPs, operational procedures, and service standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Investigate and resolve shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, billing issues, and service failures.
- Implement corrective actions to minimize operational disruptions, storage, demurrage, detention, and additional costs.
- Analyze transportation challenges and develop practical solutions to meet customer and operational requirements.
- Escalate high-risk or customer-sensitive situations appropriately while maintaining accountability for resolution.
- Partner with customers, overseas offices, Customs Brokerage, Domestic Operations, carriers, warehouses, and other stakeholders to support shipment execution.
- Communicate operational updates, delivery requirements, and service exceptions clearly and professionally.
- Support cross-functional initiatives that improve service, efficiency, and operational consistency.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and mentorship of less experienced team members when requested.
- Complete file rating, billing audits, P&L reconciliation, and invoice finalization within established timelines.
- Ensure shipment documentation, billing information, and operational records are accurate and complete.
- Support operational profitability through cost awareness, accurate billing, and reduction of preventable transportation expenses.
- Maintain compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and financial controls.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2–3 years of experience in international transportation, freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain operations
- Experience coordinating international air and/or ocean import shipments
- Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
