About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with preparing and processing customs entries under experienced team-member guidance
  • Review shipment documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
  • Support adherence to customs regulations, client SOPs, and internal brokerage procedures
  • Escalate documentation discrepancies, compliance concerns, and non-routine situations
  • Participate in training programs, coaching sessions, developmental opportunities, team meetings, and knowledge-sharing
  • Build knowledge of customs regulations, brokerage procedures, and industry requirements
  • Shadow senior team members to gain exposure to client interactions and regulatory processes
  • Maintain shipment files, documentation, and system records accurately and timely
  • Enter and manage data within brokerage systems and related platforms
  • Assist with workload management and assigned processing tasks
  • Identify documentation discrepancies, data errors, and routine processing issues
  • Research and resolve basic issues using established procedures and available resources
  • Collaborate with team members to address operational challenges
  • Escalate complex regulatory, client, or shipment-related issues to leadership
  • Support brokerage operations and client service objectives
  • Communicate questions, concerns, and status updates clearly and professionally
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Success measured by accurate, timely entry work; verified documentation; training and coaching participation; reduced errors; completed shadowing; and accurate operational support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Foundational understanding of customs brokerage operations and import processes
  • Ability to review and validate shipment documentation
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn customs brokerage systems and technology platforms
  • Data entry and record management accuracy
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and processes
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field
  • Preferred: Internship, coursework, or prior exposure to logistics, customs brokerage, or international trade
  • Preferred: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Preferred: Experience working with data, documentation, or operational systems
  • Ability to work in a professional office environment and/or remotely from a home office
  • Ability to use standard office equipment
  • Ability to lift items under 25 pounds and bend, stand, and walk short distances as required
