About the role
- Backlog Management: Serve as the owner of the team’s technical backlog. Clearly articulate the scope of development and release phases, identifying the purpose of phasing projects intentionally. Make decisions on prioritization of features based on business value, technical debt, and process innovation opportunities.
- Project and Release Management: Manage enterprise projects with multiple stakeholder groups through clearly defined project plans, organized communication, transparent decision and risk management, and a deep understanding of the software development life cycle. Manage the team’s release calendar to ensure releases are well communicated and coordinated with subject matter experts across multiple departments.
- Product Vision & Strategy: Own the roadmap for CS business systems. Translate executive-level strategic goals into a prioritized technical backlog of features and automations in partnership with business subject matter experts.
- ROI & Value Realization: Define and track project and product KPIs. Present Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to executive leadership and adjacent technical teams demonstrating the quantifiable financial impact of automation and system features.
- User Acceptance Testing & Validation: Define acceptance criteria and act as the final authority on accepting completed stories ensuring they meet business requirements. Coordinate UAT with business stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Serve as the bridge between business stakeholders across teams and departments and technical delivery teams, aligning all parties with clear communication on future state vision and project plans. Negotiate with department heads to balance conflicting priorities and resource constraints.
- Business Process Optimization engineering: Work closely with business SMEs to produce detailed "as-is" process maps. Lead process innovation sessions focused on creating exceptional internal and external customer experiences. Engineer optimized "to-be" process designs that leverage automation and AI to solve root-cause business problems.
- Change Management Leadership: Lead the strategy and execution of change management plans that drive positive user adoption of new solutions. Act as a spokesperson who builds enthusiasm and understanding of new solutions.
- Agile Leadership: Serve as the decisive voice in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Refinement, Reviews). Partner with adjacent technology teams in IT and Product and Engineering departments to ensure transparent planning and effective dependency management across multiple teams.
- Technical Translation: Translate complex business goals into high-quality User Stories and technical specifications. Work with architects to ensure system scalability and accuracy. Partner directly with engineers and stakeholders to ensure solution architecture meets business goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree - Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Healthcare Management, or related fields.
- 3-5+ years of professional experience in Product Management, Business/Systems Analysis, Project Management, or Process Improvement
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with technology teams, specifically managing backlogs and roadmaps for business systems on an Agile Scrum development team.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale business process transformation projects (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent experience preferred).
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to "speak the language" of developers (understanding data models, APIs, and system architecture) to effectively manage a technical backlog without being a developer.
- Experience working with Jira, Lucidchart, Google Slides, and Salesforce.
- Strategic Financial Acumen: Experience building business cases, calculating ROI for feature requests, and managing product value streams.
- Data-Driven Mindset: Proficiency in using operational analytics (e.g., Domo, Tableau, Excel) to identify trends, justify roadmap decisions, and measure the success of delivered projects.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority, influencing stakeholders at all levels from end-users to VPs.
- Innovative Mentality and Culture Building: Proven experience as a problem solver who can lead innovative collaboration and create a shared vision that addresses a business need.
