About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Install, program, and maintain complex communication equipment for customers
  • Diagnose and repair systems and restore communications for mission-critical customers
  • Design and upgrade customer systems using current technologies and solutions
  • Collaborate with the team, Service Manager, and customers
  • Learn and receive mentoring on new communications technologies and equipment
  • Complete assigned tickets properly and on time
  • Make minor electronic-circuitry modifications per customer requests
  • Deploy factory software and firmware updates
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide 27/7 technical support
  • Travel as necessary to support company and customer needs
  • Support public safety, hospitals, utilities, manufacturing, and other mission-critical customers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least two (2) years of experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing mobile communications equipment
  • Team-focused with a passion to meet customer needs
  • Strong communication skills for end users and third parties
  • Resourcefulness and willingness to seek assistance or guidance
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn two-way radio theory
  • Experience operating spectrum analyzers, system analyzers, watt meters, TDRs, FDRs, and multi-meters
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a 7-year background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen
  • P25 and/or MotoTRBO experience preferred
  • CET certification preferred
  • Two-year degree in Electronics, IT, or an applicable subject preferred
  • Ability to work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, reach, climb stairs, talk, hear, and use hands for tools or controls
  • Ability to use personal protective equipment
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally ascend/descend a ladder
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to work on-call, occasional second or third shifts, weekends, and travel as needed
