About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with security system installations and service work
  • Learn access control, CCTV, intrusion/burglar alarm, and related systems
  • Help install devices like card readers, cameras, door strikes, magnetic locks, panels, power supplies, and cabling
  • Pull, route, terminate, and test low voltage cable
  • Learn basic troubleshooting for devices, cabling, power, and connectivity
  • Read basic wiring diagrams, scopes of work, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Follow MCA standards, customer requirements, and safety expectations
  • Communicate issues, delays, or material needs to the project lead
  • Help maintain tools, materials, equipment, and inventory
  • Enter time and document work accurately
  • Work professionally at customer sites

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active-duty service member eligible for DoD SkillBridge
  • Command approval to participate
  • Interest in security systems, electronics, low voltage, communications, IT, networking, or field service
  • Hands-on mindset and willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
  • Strong communication and attention to detail
  • Team-first attitude
  • Prior experience with communications, electronics, maintenance, construction, troubleshooting, IT, or security systems is helpful but not required
