About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serving as the primary point of contact within the plant for all procurement activities and tasks
Managing the supply base to avoid and resolve delivery, quality, and pricing issues
Coordinating and streamlining plant procurement activities with Procurement Service Center Buyers to meet and exceed production needs and prevent interruptions
Driving supplier approval processes and developing suppliers in inventory management, Kanban, 3PL, consignment stock, and lean principles
Managing inventory availability and health, including inventory planning, forecasting, and vendor operational improvements (efficiency, fill rates, lead time)
Identifying and managing supply risks related to supplier financial instability or insolvency
Capitalizing on current and future procurement opportunities to maximize leverage across categories
Leveraging knowledge of supply market trends, associations, and trade indexes to inform procurement strategy

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, supply chain management, logistics, or related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, inventory planning, or capacity planning improvement
Demonstrated experience with demand planning and materials management tools
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office
Advanced skill level in Excel and PowerPoint
