About the role

  • Partner closely with Operations, HR, EHS, Quality, and site leadership to develop communications that educate, engage, and reflect the realities of a fast-moving manufacturing environment
  • Build strong relationships with frontline teams—manufacturing employees, shift supervisors, and site support functions
  • Create and execute communication strategies for key manufacturing initiatives, including corporate information, operational excellence efforts, workforce engagement, site readiness, and cultural improvements
  • Support and align communications across sites and divisions
  • Lead communication efforts for employee surveys, focus groups, and two-way listening programs
  • Manage and evolve internal digital signage, tools aimed at this audience, and intranet pages
  • Produce compelling stories from the shop floor, highlighting innovation, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Travel periodically to key sites to capture frontline insights
  • Support crisis or urgent operational communications
  • Advise leaders and supervisors on communication best practices tailored to shift-based, production-focused audiences

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in internal communications, manufacturing communications, employee engagement, or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Communications, Journalism, PR, Business, or a related field preferred) or equivalent, relevant experience
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex operational or technical information into messages that are clear, human, and meaningful
  • Hands-on experience with digital communication tools, including digital signage, intranet platforms, newsletters, and live or recorded town halls
  • Comfort and credibility working inside manufacturing environments
  • Strong relationship-building skills, especially with operations leaders, supervisors, shift teams, and support functions
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment, balancing multiple priorities with calm, clarity, and organization
