About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise and manage logistics personnel, including warehouse staff.
- Responsible for the planning and execution of inbound and outbound shipments.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels to ensure appropriate availability to operations.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Assures direct staff’s adherence to Company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory activities, including shipping, receiving.
- Responsible for training, hiring, firing, performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff.
- Responsible for the timely identification and resolution of inventory and supply chain issues.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g. operations, EH&S, QMS and finance) to align purchasing and warehouse operations with business needs.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and transportation companies.
- Prepare reports and present performance metrics to management.
- Ensure regulatory compliance for import/export activities.
- Monitor KPI’s to determine areas of improvement and drive continuous improvement projects within the department.
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree where required
- Minimum of 5 years successful experience in directly related field
- Strong understanding of inventory management systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and warehouse safety standards
- Prefer successful completion of Lean or Six Sigma training.
