About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead feasibility studies, requirements development, design activities, and validation across the product lifecycle.
  • Develop gas turbine control solutions and supporting documentation including logic descriptions, philosophies, SAMA diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • Create and execute integrated test plans, analyze results, and report findings to ensure system performance and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define and manage product requirements in PTC Codebeamer with full traceability.
  • Conduct technical feasibility evaluations to assess operational and technical viability of new product concepts.
  • Prepare Service products, Design Standards, and other documentation necessary for product implementation and turnover to production teams, such as: functional logic descriptions, philosophy, SAMA logic drawings, electrical schematics, and other essential documentation.
  • Transfer validated design information to downstream design teams for implementation.
  • Support ISO 9001 audits, adhere to Design & Development SOPs, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies, company procedures, and protection of confidential information.
  • Participate in team efforts, support occasional travel, and maintain professionalism and integrity.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • MS (preferred) or BS in Computer Science, Controls, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or eight years of directly related experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience in controls design for industrial power plants or gas turbines; relevant advanced degrees may count toward experience.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, prepare reports, and present information effectively to varied audiences.
  • Strong mathematical competency and ability to make technical judgments based on specifications and requirements.
  • Advanced computer skills including engineering graphics tools (e.g., Visio), Math Lab, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred: Experience with Diasys UPV & Netmation, Ovation, and WDPF control systems.
  • Preferred: Cross-functional gas turbine operations knowledge and experience with New Product Development processes.
  • Ability to meet physical work environment requirements including occasional lifting up to 10 pounds and working in quiet environments.
  • Must support 24/7 service operations and be a permanent U.S. resident due to export control requirements.
