About the role

  • Ensure effective execution of major projects as they relate to procurement
  • Work with cross-functional partners to optimize and grow business
  • Participate in project/sales meetings as project core team member
  • Determine best costs for go to market
  • Optimize supply base and internal workflows
  • Create project procurement concepts and plans
  • Analyze inquiries during bid preparation/opportunity management phase
  • Support project calculations with reliable material cost data
  • Provide insight to the sourcing strategy by highlighting known supply risks and opportunities
  • Initiate the Project Procurement Plan
  • Establish sourcing processes and control procurement resources and activities within the project
  • Optimize delivery and cost and assure adherence to deadlines and quality
  • Analyze scope of supply and contract agreements
  • Carry out risk analyses and introduce negotiation recommendations
  • Derive procurement strategies and ensure their implementation
  • Update project procurement plan with strategy and execution details
  • Lead contractual and pricing negotiations
  • Clarify internal indicators for project controlling
  • Compile relevant information for qualified reports
  • Provide supplier information and conduct project-specific supplier evaluations
  • Identify procurement risks, opportunities, and market forces during the project

Requirements

  • B.S. in Business Supply Chain or related field or equivalent years of experience required
  • B.S in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering a plus
  • MBA a plus
  • Strong background in industrial purchasing of machine and fabrication working in a project environment
  • Global sourcing strategy experience a plus
  • Foreign language skills a plus
  • 5 years of experience in strategic procurement preferred, 3 years of procurement required
  • Strong communication, organization, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and occasional international travel
  • Goal driven and oriented
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and multifunctional team environment
  • Extreme focus on procurement deliverables and customer satisfaction
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)®, Project Management Professional (PMP)®, or CPM are a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge with Total Cost of Ownership (TOCO) analysis
  • Demonstrated knowledge leading and supporting advanced negotiations.
