About the role
- Provides expert engineering support for both scheduled and emergent maintenance activities on generators and associated auxiliary equipment.
- Involves troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, and electrical testing of generator stators, rotors, and components.
- Includes regular interaction with internal and external customers.
- Requires in-depth technical knowledge and strong problem-solving skills.
- Involves frequent domestic and international travel both during outage season and in support of customer meetings and other initiatives during the off-season.

- Provides on-site and remote technical assistance for installation, repair, and maintenance of generator systems.
- Conducts electrical and mechanical testing, including IR, RSO, PI, DLRO, EL CID, Hi-Pot, Tan Delta, Surge, Pole-to-Pole, and Leakage Drop testing.
- Supports NCR (Non-Conformance Reports) and RFI (Request for Information) dispositions.
- Develops and reviews internal planning documents summarizing electrical system scope for proposals.
- Interprets or reverse engineers single-line diagrams and identifies design requirements for electrical systems.
- Responds to technical inquiries from customers and integrates design input from Mitsubishi headquarters.
- Improves generator system designs for cost-efficiency, constructability, and reliability.
- Creates and maintains technical documentation, reports, and risk assessments.
- Provides regular updates to management and contributes to achieving schedule requirements.
- Supervises technicians and provides direction during major, minor, and crawl-through generator inspections.
- Provides support with the creation of cost estimates and technical proposals for assigned work scopes.
- Participates in on-site meetings and serves as a customer-facing representative for the Generator Services group.
- Ensures proper use and adherence to safety practices and protocols at all times.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 10 years of related field experience in generator testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Extensive knowledge and experience working with large air-cooled and hydrogen-cooled generators.
- Experience with Voltage Regulator analysis and repair.
- Experience working on other OEM generator equipment is a plus.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and applying codes/standards.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with project management tools, databases, and technical software.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a valid passport.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
