About the role
- Serve as Component Technical Lead, maintaining knowledge base and resolving component-specific issues.
- Ensure component quality and manage nonconformance dispositions.
- Act as engineering authority for local-repair materials to authorize use or acceptance of nonconforming product.
- Project manage component repair projects and ensure timely completion.
- Develop process mapping for assigned projects.
- Manage implementation and revisions of repair process templates, process sheets, and specifications.
- Determine repair scopes and develop modifications.
- Provide technical information to vendors and manufacturing shops.
- Develop new product lift plans.
- Coordinate projects cross-functionally to ensure completion of development, FAI, and documentation.
- Utilize Manufacturing Engineering as a technical resource.
- Continuously optimize processes and eliminate non-value-added work.
- Support ISO 9001 audits and compliance efforts.
- Ensure product meets or exceeds internal and customer requirements.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Contribute to building a positive team spirit and communicate effectively.
- Protect confidential information appropriately.
- Support occasional travel up to 15% by land and/or air.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated technical skills specific to gas turbine component families.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, reports, and journals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform necessary mathematical calculations.
- Strong reasoning and decision-making capability based on material specifications.
- Advanced computer skills including email, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and drawings.
- Ability to meet physical requirements including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in loud environments while following safety procedures.
