About the role
- Assist in preparing electrical erection, installation, and commissioning procedures under supervision.
- Review and interpret basic engineering documents such as single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and vendor drawings.
- Support document verification activities by checking for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with project requirements.
- Collect and organize technical data needed for construction support activities and turnover packages.
- Assist with resolving basic site issues, including minor drawing discrepancies, material mismatches, or routine supplier clarifications.
- Support field teams by gathering required documents and coordinating with Engineering, Quality, and Vendors.
- Observe construction and commissioning activities to understand electrical installation practices and compliance expectations.
- Help track and process Project Action Requests (PARs) with guidance from senior engineers.
- Participate in coordination meetings with engineering teams, suppliers, contractors, and site personnel.
- Communicate status updates on assigned tasks and escalate issues appropriately.
- Support a work environment focused on teamwork, communication, safety, and continuous learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience; exposure to power plant equipment, electrical systems, or internships in heavy industry preferred.
- Familiarity with Gas Turbine or CCGT equipment is beneficial but not required.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety fundamentals and ISO process concepts is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and basic engineering documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to collect data, analyze basic technical information, and draw preliminary conclusions.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and work through routine engineering tasks with supervision.
- Required to travel domestically or internationally up to 10–15% to support project needs.
