About the role
- Demonstrates Mitsubishi Power core competencies: action-oriented, change champion, customer-focused, committed to developing self and others, and strong sense of ownership.
- Lead and direct on-site work for the installation, repair, analysis, and operation of customer turbomachinery equipment, including gas and steam turbines, generators, exciters, and auxiliary systems.
- Serve as a floor engineer during minor and major turbine outages on OEM and non-OEM equipment, making component-level technical decisions based on established engineering practices.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise outage maintenance activities, including directing supervisors, specialists, subcontractors, and assigning work to site personnel.
- Provide technical field expertise and turbine interface support to customers, management, engineers, and suppliers; resolve technical and scope-related issues.
- Interface directly with customer personnel to coordinate work execution, communicate progress, and ensure customer expectations are met.
- Interpret and apply drawings, work scopes, schedules, and technical documentation to support outage execution, change management, and closeout.
- Perform component-level outage planning, including vendor coordination, work package development, scheduling, and identification and tracking of extra work.
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate field service documentation and reports, including status updates, turnover packages, expense reports, and component-level outage reports.
- Provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and technical guidance to team members while supporting departmental and company objectives.
- Heavy overnight travel (at least 70%) by land and/or air.
- Able to work long hours for long periods of time.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from a four-year college or university; or a combination of education and experience equaling 10 years of experience and leadership in power plant, Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, or Operations and Maintenance.
- Experience in interpreting technical drawings and applying applicable industry codes/standards is a plus.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Proficiency with project management tools, databases, spreadsheets, word, and technical software.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a valid passport; And maintain good status.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
