About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work closely with members of Mitacs Business Development, Research, and Programs teams to deliver high quality programming
- Work closely with stakeholders at University of Ottawa to fully understand the needs of researchers and students, find industry and not-for-profit opportunities, and identify the best programs to capitalize on the research opportunities uncovered
- Speak with industry partners to determine their R&D needs, connect them with specialists in academia, and advise them on the best programs to leverage the research opportunities uncovered
- Create and maintain a network of partners and clients in industry in Ottawa and surrounding regions and academia
- Provide support to the Business Development team as needed
- Provide business development support to all Mitacs programs as needed
- Provide business development and student engagement support
Requirements
What you’ll need- MSc or PhD, or an equivalent combination of education and research experience
- Bilingual – fluent in both English and French is a requirement for this position
- Excellent communication skills
