Business Development Advisor
MitacsBusiness Development Advisor engaging with post-secondary and industry partners in Calgary to leverage opportunities. Fostering connections and driving meaningful impact for Canada’s innovation landscape.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work closely with members of Mitacs Business Development, Research, and Programs teams to deliver high-quality programming
- Work closely with post-secondary partners to fully understand the needs of their researchers and students, find industry opportunities, and identify the best programs to leverage the opportunities uncovered
- Create and maintain a network of partners/clients in industry and academia
- Introduce companies and not-for-profit organizations to various Mitacs programs
- Introduce companies to various university and college researchers
- Provide support to the Business Development team as needed
- Provide business and application development support to all Mitacs programs
- Provide business development and student engagement support
- Work collaboratively with post-secondary research and administration offices involved in the administration of Mitacs programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Recent Masters or PhD (within one or two years), preferably from a Calgary based post secondary institution
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Enthusiastic and high-energy self-starter spirit
- Team player spirit
- Ability to think creatively and try new things
- Desire to pursue a career outside of research and academia
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance culture
- Knowledge of written and spoken English is required.
