About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Write compliant and compelling proposal responses to commercial and U.S. government solicitations
  • Incorporate capture strategy, proposal lenses, customer hot buttons, and discriminators into assigned sections
  • Collaborate with Capture Manager, Proposal Manager, Volume Lead, subject matter experts, and functional departments
  • Follow approved proposal processes and participate in proposal reviews
  • Maintain configuration and version control of assigned sections
  • Review RFPs, amendments, and Q&As and incorporate applicable changes
  • Write sections according to schedules, compliance matrices, outlines, and allocated page counts
  • Develop data calls and coordinate their distribution to subcontractors and functional groups
  • Attend daily standup progress reviews and report assignment status
  • Ensure assigned sections comply with RFP and amendment requirements
  • Help prepare annotated outlines and formulate supporting graphics
  • Develop questions for submission to the Proposal Manager
  • Review and adjudicate reviewer comments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or 1 year relevant experience with a Master’s degree in a related field; or high school diploma/equivalent and 7 years relevant experience
  • In-depth understanding of compliance with governmental RFPs
  • Experience analyzing RFPs, creating annotated outlines, writing new material, editing written material, and producing high-quality proposals under tight deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Highly developed word processing skills, especially Microsoft Office products
  • Working knowledge of graphics and desktop software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint or other proposal collaboration software
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible and changing schedules, manage multiple simultaneous tasks, and meet compressed deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours as needed
  • Preferred: TS clearance
  • Preferred: BA degree in professional writing or English literature
  • Preferred: 3+ years continuous proposal writing experience for large bid efforts
