About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop comprehensive project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation
- Allocate and manage resources across multiple projects
- Identify project and program risks and develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans
- Monitor project budgets, track expenses, report to stakeholders, and implement corrective actions
- Implement quality control measures and ensure compliance with contract, industry, and regulatory requirements
- Lead and motivate project managers, engineers, analysts, and other professionals
- Establish performance metrics and KPIs, monitor progress and milestones, and update stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, reporting requirements, deliverables, regulations, and legal obligations
- Drive continuous process improvement and implement best practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8 years of relevant progressive experience with a bachelor’s degree in a related field; 6 years with a master’s degree; or high school diploma/equivalent and 12 years of relevant progressive experience
- Proven Project Manager or similar experience, preferably in defense industry or government contracting
- Strong knowledge of defense industry practices, regulations, and contractual requirements
- Experience managing multi-year contracts with greater than $20M annual revenue
- Experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
- Financial acumen in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage risks and make timely, informed judgments
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
- Preferred: 5+ years managing Defense Aerospace or Airborne ISR contracts
- Preferred: 3+ years managing CPAF contracts supporting the Department of Defense
- Preferred: 3+ years with SOFA requirements throughout Europe and DOCPER regulations for contractors in Germany or Italy
- Preferred: 3+ years managing contracts awarded and administered by GSA/FEDSIM
- Preferred: 3+ years using Smartsheet and Office365 products
- PMP certification or DAWIA Level III Program Management certification
