About the role

  • Lead the integration of LVC training solutions, utilizing tools such as Wireshark, Redsim, SIMDIS, and JSPA.
  • Coordinate and consult on network connectivity and systems, architecture at delivered sites, leveraging a thorough understanding of networking architecture, Linux and Window operating systems, Cloud Enabling architectures, Containers and Orchestration, TCP/IP, UDP, and distributed simulation protocols (HLA, DIS, TENA, DDS).
  • Serve as the primary integration engineer for projects, managing schedules, coordinating with engineering functions (networks, operations, information assurance, software development), and ensuring seamless integration with training environments.
  • Represent DoD customers in interoperability working groups and IPTs, contributing to mission, technology, and training objectives.
  • Lead the delivery, configuration, and deployment of integrated solutions to various DoD customers.
  • Serve as the regional Subject Matter Expert (SME) and engineering point of contact for all JLVC Modernization delivered technologies, supporting the Joint Staff’s technical integration of systems.
  • Utilize the JLVC Integration Guide (FIG) to provide expert advice and guidance to external simulation/trainer engineers.
  • Provide technical leadership and support during specific training exercises, acting as a liaison between the customer and engineering/operations departments, identifying and resolving simulation problems, and coordinating corrective actions.
  • Represent JFIS in business development activities, supporting the expansion of work for new and adjacent opportunities.

Requirements

  • 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of directly related experience in systems integration, network engineering, or simulation environments.
  • Must currently hold or be able to maintain a US Secret security clearance.
  • Deep understanding of distributed simulation concepts.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting network and system issues.
  • Experience with C4I tactical systems, such as Link 16 and GCCS.
  • Knowledge of Training Systems: ACTS, BFTT, TSSS, and/or BEWT.
  • Knowledge of ASW, EW, and/or AAW operations and capabilities.
  • Familiarization with modern cloud enabling data communications and queuing disciplines to include Kafka, Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP), WebSockets, Docker, Kubernetes.
