About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage government billing activities, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant invoice submissions
- Validate billing data, audit system inputs, and resolve complex billing discrepancies
- Analyze billing trends, research issues, and coordinate with internal teams to maintain data integrity
- Explain billing requirements and invoice details to program staff, clients, and auditors
- Support funding oversight by reviewing expenditures, contract mods, and program financial status
- Apply program cost knowledge to ensure billing aligns with budgets, forecasts, EAC/ETC updates, and contract terms
- Assist in preparing financial reports, variance insights, and other data supporting billing decisions
- Maintain accurate records for funding, revenue, and closeout documentation
- Support internal/external audit requests and recommend improvements to billing processes and systems
- Collaborate with Program Managers, Contracts, Procurement, and Accounts Receivable to ensure billing accuracy and resolve issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field;
- 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience
- Experience with government billing practices and financial/accounting procedures
- Knowledge of Costpoint or similar systems
- Strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to interpret financial data and resolve billing or collections issues
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications, especially Excel
