About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the system through all RMF steps, including categorization, control selection, implementation, assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring.
  • Design, document, and validate Cross‑Domain security controls to ensure compliant data transfer and system segmentation.
  • Develop and maintain all required RMF and cybersecurity documentation, including the System Security Plan (SSP), Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), and Security Assessment Report (SAR).
  • Prepare systems for ATO packages, assessments, and audits, ensuring readiness for Authorizing Official review.
  • Coordinate with security assessors, ISSOs, system owners, and engineering teams to ensure controls are correctly implemented and evidenced.
  • Conduct risk identification and provide recommendations for mitigation and remediation.
  • Support continuous monitoring activities, including vulnerability assessments, configuration audits, and control updates.
  • Stay current on federal cybersecurity policies, frameworks, tools, and emerging security threats.
  • Communicate technical security requirements to non‑technical stakeholders and support decision‑making processes across functional units.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the RMF process (NIST SP 800‑37, 800‑53, CNSSI 1253, and related guidance).
  • Experience developing and validating Cross‑Domain and boundary security controls.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity governance frameworks, system accreditation processes, and federal security policy.
  • Ability to provide technical solutions to complex cybersecurity compliance challenges.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to translate technical security concepts into operational recommendations.
  • Knowledge of security assessment procedures, vulnerability management, and continuous monitoring practices.
  • Clearance: SECRET security clearance required.
