About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems in classified SIPR environment, including coordination with network administrators
- Installs and configures hardware, software, and system upgrades for classified systems
- Manages network accounts and enforce network security protocols specific to classified environments
- Manages Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, File Server, Key Management Server, and other core IT services.
- Implements and maintains network security tools including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection services
- Sets up administrator and service accounts while maintaining system documentation
- Tunes system performance and install system-wide software
- Allocates and manages mass storage space
- Provides backup and recovery coordination
- Trains staff on software applications applicable to their positions
- Monitors system configuration (hardware and software)
- Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
- Evaluates vendor products and make recommendations for hardware and software purchases
- Provides technical assistance to customers with information technology issues
- Maintains detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures and changes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems with 3 years of professional experience in systems administration OR Master's degree in related field with 1 year of relevant experience
- Security+ or other Cyber Workforce (CWF) certification(s) required
- Current or Active U.S. Secret clearance (must maintain throughout employment)
- Prior experience performing systems administration in a classified space
- Security+ or other certifications allowing personnel to maintain Cyber Workforce (CWF) credentials
- Experience with MS Windows OS and Red Hat OS
- Experience supporting the installation, configuration and maintenance of physical and virtual servers
- Familiarity with STIGs, Nessus, and the RMF process
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A+ certification and/or related hardware/software experience.
