About the role

  • Designs, develops, documents, tests, maintains, and debugs applications software and systems.
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and hardware engineers for electronic data processing systems.
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities; prepares operating instructions; designs compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Ensures software standards are met.
  • Serve as the technical and operational anchor for the team—ensuring high-quality code delivery, fostering collaboration, and aligning development efforts with organizational goals.
  • Guide the software development team through strategic planning, technical execution, day-to-day operations, and mentor staff.

Requirements

  • 4 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant progressive experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership or supervisory role
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++, JavaScript)
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and inspire teams
  • Clearance: Minimum Secret clearance is required to start; Must have TS/SCI security clearance
  • Required Travel: 0 - 10%
  • Physical Requirements: May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment; normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above floor level.
