About the role

  • HII Mission Technologies provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide
  • We are seeking an Oracle Database and Application Developer to support our USPS Engineering client
  • Work location is Merrifield, VA; hybrid/remote schedule: 1 day remote per week, 4 days onsite in Merrifield, VA after acclimation
  • Essential Job Responsibilities: Support existing ASP/IIS/Java/Eclipse/WebSphere applications; Perform software development, testing, and provide support in all phases of the software lifecycle; Perform analysis on design, implementation, software performance, code review, testing and programing; Have knowledge of computer data-structures and algorithms; Provide support to issues in production

Requirements

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience
  • Client requirements: Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in software development
  • Security clearance: The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a sensitive security clearance from USPS
  • Oracle Database development experience (PL/SQL scripting, SLQ optimization, database maintenance)
  • UNIX/Linux experience (Shell scripting)
  • Experience with Source Control s/w (Git, Subversion, etc.)
  • Hands-on Windows experience
  • In depth knowledge of software engineering techniques and concepts
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently or coordinate as part of a development team with other software engineers
  • Ability to provide support to issues in production
  • Preferred: VB.NET, C# .NET development experience
  • C/C++ development experience
  • Classic ASP VBScript experience
  • Perl scripting experience
  • USPS Security Clearance or an active security clearance
