Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee and manage the operational and technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects
Define overall program scope, systems engineering approach, long-range plans, and resource needs
Establish program milestones and maintain adherence to master plans and schedules
Monitor program status and budgets; manage schedules
Provide labor planning, workload assignment, financial oversight, and direction for direct reports
Ensure all work products and deliverables align with technical, contractual, and process‑compliance standards
Lead all phases of programs from inception through completion
Serve as the primary customer interface, leading reviews, technical discussions, and program status meetings
Identify opportunities to expand current business and deliver increased value to the customer
Lead, mentor, and support internal teams and subcontractors

Requirements

What you’ll need

6 years relevant experience with bachelor’s degree in a related field; or 4 years relevant experience with master’s degree in a related field; or 10 years’ relevant experience with HS Diploma/equivalent
Knowledge of systems engineering processes, program management methodologies, and DoD acquisition practices
Ability to lead complex technical programs while managing cost, schedule, and performance requirements
Experience with budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and technical review processes
Familiarity with Agile or iterative development environments
Ability to manage quality, compliance, and process‑adherence standards across technical deliverables
Experience collaborating with cross‑functional engineering and training development teams
Strong stakeholder management and customer‑engagement skills
Experience working with DoD customers, programs, and processes
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Active DoD SECRET security clearance (or ability to obtain one)
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
