About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee and manage the operational and technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects
  • Define overall program scope, systems engineering approach, long-range plans, and resource needs
  • Establish program milestones and maintain adherence to master plans and schedules
  • Monitor program status and budgets; manage schedules
  • Provide labor planning, workload assignment, financial oversight, and direction for direct reports
  • Ensure all work products and deliverables align with technical, contractual, and process‑compliance standards
  • Lead all phases of programs from inception through completion
  • Serve as the primary customer interface, leading reviews, technical discussions, and program status meetings
  • Identify opportunities to expand current business and deliver increased value to the customer
  • Lead, mentor, and support internal teams and subcontractors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6 years relevant experience with bachelor’s degree in a related field; or 4 years relevant experience with master’s degree in a related field; or 10 years’ relevant experience with HS Diploma/equivalent
  • Knowledge of systems engineering processes, program management methodologies, and DoD acquisition practices
  • Ability to lead complex technical programs while managing cost, schedule, and performance requirements
  • Experience with budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and technical review processes
  • Familiarity with Agile or iterative development environments
  • Ability to manage quality, compliance, and process‑adherence standards across technical deliverables
  • Experience collaborating with cross‑functional engineering and training development teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer‑engagement skills
  • Experience working with DoD customers, programs, and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Active DoD SECRET security clearance (or ability to obtain one)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
