About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform testing, maintenance and operation of the Core Sonar System including arrays, hydrophones and transducer sensors
Ensure that all systems function properly as designed and in accordance with the required test procedures
Generate preliminary problem reports when discrepancies are found in equipment operation/functions of the Sonar system software
Assist in the problem resolution phases
Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks
Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data
Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings
Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas
May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis

Requirements

What you’ll need

AA or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience, or HS + 5 years related (DoD/USN) experience
prior US Navy Submarine experience
ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers
flexibility with work hours, able to work either first or second shift
active Secret clearance or ability to obtain an interim clearance
