About the role
- Provide software system testing support, verification of code and certification that all deliverables meet customer requirements and are free of software defects and/or bugs across the systems development life cycle (SDLC).
- Work closely with software engineers and other project team members to successfully test and assess ongoing development within demanding schedules
- produce test cases and other Postal project documentation.
- Execute test plans and related test case scenarios based on documented, and sometimes undocumented, system requirements and/or business rules identifying and documenting defects and anomalies. This may include positive and negative test cases, regression test case procedures and simple to complex business functionality.
- Be involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle
- demonstrate abilities to learn both the business processes as well as new and existing technologies.
- Work in an Agile team environment, and must be able to produce with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
- Candidate must have Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a technical field (engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related field of study)
- hands-on software testing experience
- at least two years of professional service, or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role.
- Candidate must have some experience using a software defect management tool to log and track defects
- providing clear and concise steps to reproduce any issues using tools such as HP’s Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and Agile User Story management tools, such as, VersionOne.
- Analytic, design, troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
- Detail oriented with strong problem solving skills.
- Ability to analyze complex and large amounts of data.
- A thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
- an ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting.
