About the role
- Plans, designs and oversees the construction of new or expanded facilities.
- Prepares architectural, engineering, and cost estimates, functional studies, construction plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Obtains and supervises outside contractors.
- Recommends architectural and engineering design procedures and standards for the planning and design of facilities.
- Supervises the detailed design, budgetary costing, standardized construction, and final inspection of facility projects.
- Conducts construction surveillance to ensure adherence to contractual requirements.
- Provides engineering consulting services to local and divisional offices.
- Reviews and estimates design/construction costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.
- Develops and reviews project plans concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion dates, and construction feasibility.
- Prepares bid documents and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.
- Performs code evaluations, conducts building assessments, space planning and responds to emergent related issues in a fast paced, large industrial campus/complex setting.
- Directs work assignments of consultants and contractors to ensure shipyard facilities and structures are constructed and maintained in a safe condition.
- Responsible for ensuring clear articulation of priorities, targets, metrics and accountabilities.
- Monitors and reports project performance and initiates corrective measures.
Requirements
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- strong skills in project management, scheduling, organization, leadership, communication, and computer proficiency.

- experience working in heavy industrial facilities.
- must be a U.S. citizen.
