About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Operate and monitor batch workflows in Control-M for Mainframe, ensuring SLA compliance;
Act quickly on abends/failures in the job flow, performing analysis, correction, release and reprocessing/restart;
Perform quick inspections of programs to identify root cause and execution parameters;
Make changes to JCL and COBOL/DB2 programs (steps, DD statements, parameters, datasets, conditionals and return codes);
Adjust and validate SYSINs (cards and execution parameterizations);
Perform analysis and maintenance on COBOL/JCL programs following established change processes;
Support technical investigations and incident resolution in production environments.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Solid experience with Control-M for Mainframe (dependencies, rerun/restart and troubleshooting);
Proficiency in JCL and SYSIN;
Experience analyzing failures in TSO/ISPF environments;
Practical knowledge of batch processing: return codes/steps, datasets, GDG (Generation Data Group) and VSAM;
Experience with maintenance and analysis in COBOL/DB2;
Knowledge of Oracle database;
Experience with agile methodologies;
Knowledge of development architecture patterns;
Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence;
Analytical ability to break down complex problems and identify solutions objectively.
⭐ Nice to have
Experience with Micro Focus COBOL in a Gravity environment;
Intermediate/advanced Spanish;
Previous experience with the F1RST working methodology;
Knowledge of utilities such as SORT and IDCAMS;
Experience in online environments;
Proficiency in CICS and COBOL/DB2.
