About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate and monitor batch workflows in Control-M (Mainframe), ensuring SLA compliance.
  • Respond quickly to abends/failures in the batch: analyze, fix, release and reprocess/restart jobs.
  • Perform rapid code reviews in programs to identify root cause and execution parameters.
  • Implement changes in JCLs and COBOL/DB2 programs (steps, DD statements, parameters, datasets, conditionals, return codes).
  • Adjust and validate SYSINs (control cards/execution parameters).
  • Make changes and perform analysis on COBOL programs/JCLs following the change management process (when applicable).

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong experience with Control-M on Mainframe (dependencies, rerun/restart, troubleshooting).
  • Proficiency with JCL and SYSIN.
  • Experience analyzing failures and working in TSO/ISPF environments.
  • Practical knowledge of batch operations: return codes/steps, datasets (e.g., GDG/VSAM depending on client context).
  • Availability to work evening or night shifts and weekends (rotating schedule).
  • Maintenance and analysis of COBOL/DB2 (nice to have).
  • Knowledge of Oracle databases (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with utilities (e.g., SORT, IDCAMS) (nice to have).
  • Experience with supporting tools (nice to have).
  • Experience with change management tools (e.g., Changeman) (nice to have).
  • Solid experience in online environments (nice to have).
  • Proficiency with CICS and COBOL/DB2 (nice to have).
  • Availability to work weekends (rotating schedule) (nice to have).
