About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work in a legacy Mainframe environment, focusing on support, development and integration of critical transactional services.
  • Operate and monitor online transaction dashboards in a Mainframe environment.
  • Analyze and resolve abends/transactional failures.
  • Perform quick assessments and diagnostics on COBOL programs to identify root causes and execution parameters.
  • Implement maintenance and changes in COBOL/DB2 programs.
  • Make adjustments and perform analysis on JCLs (steps, DDs, parameters, datasets, conditionals and return codes).
  • Identify and handle ASRA, CICS and BBEL abends.
  • Execute changes following change management processes, when applicable.
  • Support development, operations and business teams with technical analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Record evidence and actions taken, ensuring traceability of activities.
  • Participate in a support rotation, including availability on weekends.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong experience in an Online Mainframe environment.
  • Advanced experience with COBOL, CICS and DB2.
  • Knowledge of JCL and job handling.
  • Experience analyzing and handling ASRA, CICS and BBEL abends.
  • Experience in corrective and evolutionary maintenance of critical legacy systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical investigation skills.
  • Experience monitoring online transactions.
  • Senior profile with technical autonomy and hands-on approach.
  • Availability to work in a rotation and on weekends.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the role.
