About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Senior professional to work in a Mainframe environment, focusing on development and maintenance of batch processes
- Ensure stability of batch job flows, compliance with SLAs and rapid response to incidents in critical environments
- Operate and monitor batch jobs in Control-M
- Ensure execution within established SLAs
- Analyze and resolve abends (failures), performing restarts and reruns
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Make changes to JCLs and COBOL/DB2 programs
- Adjust and validate SYSINs (execution parameters)
- Analyze job executions (steps, return codes, datasets)
- Follow change management processes (GMUD)
- Interact with development, operations and business teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong experience with Control-M (monitoring, dependencies, rerun/restart)
- Proficiency in JCL and parameterization via SYSIN
- Experience analyzing abends and performing troubleshooting
- Experience working in TSO/ISPF environment
- Practical knowledge of batch processing (return codes, steps, GDG, VSAM)
- Experience with COBOL and DB2
- Availability to work shifts (evening/overnight and weekends)
- Knowledge of Oracle databases (preferred)
- Experience with utilities (SORT, IDCAMS) (preferred)
- Experience with change management tools (e.g., Changeman) (preferred)
- Experience with monitoring and support tools (preferred)
- Experience in banking or other high-criticality environments (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related areas (preferred)
