About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • You maintain and optimize the measurement, control and regulation (MCR) technology of our thermal process plants, contributing to stable and efficient process operation.
  • By analyzing and continuously improving control loops, you ensure the adherence to defined process parameters and high process stability.
  • You support fault diagnosis and troubleshooting in MCR and automation systems.
  • In addition, you maintain and parameterize PLC systems, participate in program changes and optimize temperature, pressure and flow control loops.
  • As part of commissioning, conversions and modernization projects, you contribute your technical expertise and support the successful implementation of plant modifications.
  • You plan and implement improvement measures to increase plant availability and energy efficiency, specify suitable field devices, sensors and actuators and evaluate their use.
  • Your responsibilities are rounded off by coordinating external service providers in the field of instrumentation and automation, maintaining technical documentation and working closely with production, maintenance, engineering and external suppliers.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A completed degree (B.Sc.) in automation, measurement and control engineering or a comparable field
  • Several years of professional experience in instrumentation and control (MCR) technology in the process or thermal-process industry
  • Knowledge of measurement, control and regulation technology for industrial furnaces, burner systems and comparable thermal processes
  • Experience with PLC systems (e.g., Siemens S7/TIA Portal) and industrial automation technology
  • Experience in analysing control strategies, process sequences and process control systems (PLS80E, Invensys I/A)
  • Understanding of functional safety and relevant technical regulations
  • Confident user of MS Office applications
  • Structured, analytical working style, strong communication skills and pronounced problem-solving ability
