About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, maintain and evolve the database platform and adapt it for cloud technologies
- Ensure high scalability and maintainability of the components
- Contribute to and review designs and code from other team members
- Perform testing and provide tooling to maintain up-to-date systems
- Collaborate across teams to remediate database issues
- Support migration from VMs to Kubernetes
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience as an engineer
- Excellent Python development experience
- Proficiency with Kubernetes (writing operators desirable)
- Understanding of REST APIs
- Strong experience with MySQL, Cassandra, or similar technologies
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with cloud services (GCP, Azure)
- Readiness to work with GCP
- Familiarity with Redis
- Continuous integration and agile methodologies
- Excellent communication and self-management skills
- Previous experience designing and building tooling for use by other engineers (would be a plus)
- Experience with game development or game engines (would be a plus)
- Experience with large scale services (up to millions of concurrent users); experience with sharding (would be a plus)
- Familiarity with Vitess or similar (would be a plus)
- Experience with Go (would be a plus)
