Project Portfolio Manager – m/f/x

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the VWAZ JV project on behalf of Allianz Direct, ensuring effective cost and benefit tracking in alignment with Allianz Group objectives.
- Establish and track financial KPIs and OKRs at both project and company levels, translating them into actionable strategic objectives.
- Review business cases across all countries for financial viability and return on investment for Allianz Direct, the VWAZ JV and the Allianz Group.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reporting tools to provide stakeholders with regular updates on portfolio performance and strategic alignment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements that optimize resource allocation and project delivery.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings with key stakeholders to align project objectives with business strategies and ensure effective communication across all levels of the organization.
- Ensure project principles are clearly communicated to all stakeholders and calibrated as the project evolves.
- Ensure adequate control and oversight in the areas of process standardisation and effective use of platform features.
- Own the business case end to end, including an early-warning mechanism for deviations from plan.
- Manage a complex, multi-layer governance with stakeholders across global and local entities of the Allianz, Allianz Direct and VWFS Groups, ensuring effective escalation in line with the governance framework.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial steering of projects, business case analysis, or related areas.
- Proven experience in managing project portfolios within a complex organizational environment, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.
- Experience in integrating AI into portfolio governance and delivery frameworks across project management.
- Proficiency in English is essential; professional proficiency in German is required.
