About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

You will be part of the newly established Corporate Development function as a key strategic partner, shaping Heraeus Convantics’ long-term strategic direction through 2035.
From day one you will work with the CEOs and the leadership team on the questions that matter most: Where should we grow? Where should we focus? Which new business areas should be developed? And how should the company position itself in a changing market environment?
In this role you will own topics end-to-end — from structuring and analyzing complex problems and trends to translating insights into clear, decision-ready recommendations for senior management.
Selected strategic initiatives will be delegated to you with full implementation responsibility so you can see your work turned into real results.
You will work across all five business units, collaborate closely with leaders across the organization, and engage external partners as needed.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Economics, Management, Engineering, or a related field
3–5 years of professional experience, ideally with a foundation in strategy consulting, complemented by industry experience and/or corporate development experience
Proven track record on complex strategic projects with visibility at the executive level — ideally including portfolio strategy, new business development, or transformation initiatives
High degree of ownership — able to follow topics from initial structuring through to actionable recommendations, with strong personal accountability
Driven by curiosity — genuine interest in semiconductors, data engineering, photonics, materials, AI, and emerging future trends, combined with the ability to rapidly build expertise in unfamiliar topics and industries
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills — ability to structure ambiguity and convert insights into actionable recommendations
Persuasive communication — able to produce high-quality strategic materials and communicate credibly with executives, both verbally and in writing
Leadership ambitions — this role offers a clear development path for those looking to grow into broader responsibilities
Comfortable working across cultures, functions, and global locations
Business-fluent English; German is a clear plus.
