About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work on a wide range of diverse, fast-paced, and challenging projects within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Design and develop prototype systems that demonstrate novel capabilities for a diverse range of products.
  • Engage with clients that are stretching the art of the possible by combining a thirst for solving problems, a desire to push technology to its limits, and a creative and collaborative mindset.
  • Contribute to the education of other Business Units around practice offerings to support existing account expansion.
  • Play a significant role in client proposals and RFI/RFP responses from initial brief to final sales presentations.
  • Nurture and expand existing account relationships.
  • Identify potential personal business relationships that can be leveraged by the practice to develop new business.
  • Identify potential project extension and expansion opportunities while staffed on projects.
  • Support the development of thought leadership and innovative offerings as they relate to AI/Data Science, Digital Customer Analytics, and Operational Analytics.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A passion for embedded software with a desire to broaden your horizons in new and exciting areas.
  • Pursuing an MS or BS in a field related to embedded software (e.g., computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, etc.)
  • Some software development work experience: this can be internships, co-ops, personal, or open-source projects
  • C, C++, or Rust programming and software engineering skills
  • Experience with scripting and analysis tools such as MATLAB or Python
  • Good testing habits: unit testing, system testing, regression testing, etc.…
  • Verbal and written communication skills to convey your designs and ideas.
  • Experience in developing in a Linux environment (advantageous).
  • Experience in writing and debugging software on embedded platforms (advantageous).
  • Experience with common microprocessors or microcontrollers (i.e., MSP430, STM32, PIC, AVR, ESP32) (advantageous).
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (advantageous).
  • Experience with wireless protocols such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and ZigBee (advantageous).
  • Exposure to relevant industry communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, USB (advantageous).
  • Experience with common test equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers (advantageous).
