About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Working with glass – you will process borosilicate glass and learn to handle glass rods.
- Shaping with an open flame – you will learn how glass is formed by heating and will work with an open flame under supervision.
- Creative design – you will make small animals and shapes from glass and develop a feel for the material.
- Working with high temperatures – you will learn how to handle very hot glass in a controlled and safe way.
- Practical insight – you will gain a realistic impression of the profession of glass apparatus maker or process mechanic in glass technology.

- Interest in natural sciences and chemical processes
- Good mathematical and technical understanding
