About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and maintain relationships with business area management to effectively provide audit support and technical expertise on internal controls.
  • Perform integrated business audits and advisory services to assess and improve operations.
  • Under supervision, ensure the technical aspects of an audit: planning, fieldwork, report writing and presenting findings to the audit unit management and senior business management.
  • Conduct audit fieldwork, including documenting processes and procedures, executing audit approaches, reviewing and analysing documentation, and identifying and documenting deficiencies in processes and controls.
  • Structure and draft the issues identified during the audit, reflecting deficiencies found during fieldwork, their risk impact, and practical recommendations to manage the risk.
  • Ensure follow-up activities on recommendations to assess the adequacy and timeliness of actions taken by management (including corrective actions) in response to audit recommendations.
  • Contribute ideas that strengthen internal audit practices and other risk/control efforts, including performing related tasks and/or projects.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management, Economics, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Computer Engineering, or similar fields.
  • Possession of IIA certifications, especially the CIA (preferred).
  • Certifications in Internal Control frameworks, namely COSO and COBIT (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in equivalent roles, preferably in Internal Audit, Risk Management & Internal Control, or similar areas.
  • Experience in process analysis and testing their effectiveness, as well as preparing improvement proposals.
  • Ability to identify and assess risks.
  • Technical knowledge of the insurance sector, including business environment and trends, sector practices and organizational practices (preferred).
  • Information Technology: Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Languages: Portuguese (Fluent), English (Upper-intermediate).
