About the role
- Support preparing reinsurance pricing models and performing analysis for flow and block reinsurance transactions
- Enhance processes by developing and automating tools to be used at various stages of pricing and analysis
- Perform sensitivity analysis and product feature testing; summarize and communicate findings in a precise and organized manner to the broader team
- Support due diligence process including but not limited to actuarial appraisals, experience studies, seriatim data, etc.
- Lead (or support) the modeling and analysis in more technical and complicated projects
- Support reinsurance audit
- Continuously challenge the status quo and stay abreast of regulatory changes that will affect reinsurance decision
- Liaison with broader actuarial function, including but not limited to actuarial pricing, product development and valuation teams
- Peer review team members’ work
- Demonstrate a continued desire to learn and develop as a key member of the team
- Other ad-hoc tasks as they arise
- Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI)
Requirements
- Four-year degree required in actuarial science, math, physics, economics, engineering, or related field
- 4+ SOA exams passed
- 4+ years relevant experience, working directly for a life/annuity (re)insurance company, or consulting firm
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Access, VBA
- Experience programming in SQL, R preferred
- Experience in annuity product development/pricing, AAT, PBR, is a plus
- Experience in reinsurance preferred
- Broad business acumen, with ability to manage multiple diverse projects simultaneously
- High adaptability and agility in a dynamic environment
- You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
