About the role
- Foster an environment and working relationships that encourage development of technical creativity and continual improvement of product designs.
- Manage assigned engineering projects to assure results are within cost, schedule, and technical goals.
- Lead or participate on technical and cross functional teams to resolve complex technical problems and ensure effective communication within the teams and the rest of the organization at all stages of the product life cycle.
- Coordinate with and/or lead sample-to-production teams on new product launches.
- Establish specifications and conduct effective evaluations for new product development and/or applications of existing products, materials or systems.
- Provide support for the implementation of the design, scale-up and automation of new and/or existing product manufacturing lines.
- Investigate, plan, and implement the introduction of new materials/processes into product manufacturing processes.
- Establish methodologies for thorough investigation and resolution of recurring mode-failures of existing products.
- Develop new, or improve upon existing, products, systems, and methods.
- Design, build, and test prototypes and pre-production products; communicate test results to management and project teams.
- Take charge of installation/testing of equipment and implementation of products where engineering support is required.
- Troubleshoot and repair process control and data acquisition equipment at customer site as needed.
Requirements
- AUTHORIZATION TO WORK IN THE US WITHOUT REQUIRING SPONSORSHIP NOW OR IN THE FUTURE.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related course of study.
- Project management experience, leading projects a must.
- Previous experience implementing cost savings project(s).
- Experience working with SAP, or similar MRP system, for use with Engineering Change Process and Product Data Management.
- Previous experience conducting statistical data analysis and problem solving.
- Strong documentation & technical writing skills.
- Auto-Cad and/or 3D modeling skills and FMEA/DFMEA knowledge.
- Ability to travel up to 35%, primarily domestic, occasionally international.
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
