About the role
- Advise clients on the efficient development of appropriate solutions and provide strategic foresight.
- Work closely with stakeholders from the defense sector to define and evaluate requirements and validate results.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to extract valuable insights for the development of data-driven solutions.
- Design, develop and implement application-appropriate solutions based on data science, machine learning and AI methods.
- Build end-to-end data pipelines (extract, transform, load) while ensuring robust data governance.
- Create visualizations, dashboards and reports to communicate complex findings clearly to relevant stakeholders.
- Continuously advance and experiment with new innovative approaches as a thought leader.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Physics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field; a doctorate (PhD) is advantageous.
- Enjoy working with, analyzing and evaluating large datasets, and developing data-driven solutions and innovative technologies.
- Interest in the defense sector or comparable civilian areas (e.g., supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, operations, maintenance) and ideally first-hand experience in one of these fields.
- Experience in consulting or other client-facing project environments; able to present complex topics clearly and persuasively.
- Solid knowledge of advanced mathematics, statistics, probability theory and linear algebra and their application in data science projects.
- Experience processing structured and unstructured data and knowledge in areas such as Computer Vision, NLP and ideally geospatial analysis.
- Proficiency in relevant technologies, frameworks and concepts for implementing data-driven AI solutions (e.g., Python, Spark, SQL, TensorFlow/PyTorch, OpenCV, GIS, Kubernetes) in big data environments — both on-premises and in cloud environments (e.g., Stackit, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Very good German and English language skills.
