About the role
- Lead Next-Generation API Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and drive the roadmap for scalable, high-performance API services optimized for speed, reliability, and usability.
- Align API product vision with business goals and evolving customer needs.
- Own long-term strategy, including API modernization and architectural improvements.
- Define & Prioritize Product Requirements
- Translate customer needs, technical constraints, and business objectives into clear, actionable product requirements.
- Develop comprehensive feature specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate Closely with Engineering & Architecture
- Partner with architects, developers, and QA teams to clarify technical requirements and ensure smooth execution.
- Create and refine API specifications, including REST and GraphQL schemas used by development teams.
- Facilitate technical discussions and make informed trade-off decisions.
- Data-Driven Product Decision Making
- Analyze usage data, performance metrics, and customer insights to validate ideas and measure feature impact.
- Leverage quantitative and qualitative data to inform product direction and prioritization.
- Manage Cross-Functional Communication
- Coordinate across engineering, design, architecture, and leadership teams to ensure seamless alignment on goals, progress, and releases.
- Communicate status updates, milestones, and blockers to stakeholders with clarity and transparency.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience building API platforms, developer tools, or backend systems.
- Strong understanding of API design principles (REST, GraphQL, or similar).
- Demonstrated success collaborating with engineering and technical teams.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems or cloud platforms.
- Hands-on background in software engineering or technical product roles.
- Familiarity with API governance, versioning, and documentation best practices.
